Studio Day

Guess what I was doing today?



Yep, it was a studio day. I love latex paint, but it sure is messy. And I have to wear a respirator because the fumes get to me. I don't like that part of it.

Painting Shoes

Katherine asked about the lack of paint on the shoes in my birthday self-portrait. Good eye for detail, Katherine!

These days I have separate painting and walking shoes. I don't mind paint splatters on the tops of the shoes.



But the bottoms build up a thick layer of paint that I can't get off. I feel like I'm walking on an inch of paint, not to mention the traction problems.



So yeah -- I've graduated to separate painting and walking shoes. Thanks for noticing, and thanks for asking!

Cat Beds

There are plenty of cat beds in the studio, but Nelson and Alex crowd onto the same bed. What's up with that?

Birthday Hike

It's my birthday, and another perfect hiking day! Cool and overcast, but not raining. I went to Charmlee Wilderness Park in Malibu.






Everything is greening up from the rains that we've had, but most of the wildflowers haven't started to bloom yet. I saw this one Indian Paintbrush on the trail.

Catalina

I went hiking this morning in a light rain, and the view was incredible. It's rare to see Catalina so clearly.

Spring is Here

I love these flowers! I don't even know what they're called, but I think they're so beautiful and interesting-looking when they first start to bloom.

Flower Shower

It's raining flower petals in the backyard!



The Evergreen Pear trees are in bloom, and the light winds that we've had lately are bringing flower petals down all around me.
