Global Warming

Last night I watched the movie "Who Killed the Electric Car?" and tonight I watched "An Inconvenient Truth." They're both available as downloads from Movielink.com. As a result, I've been thinking about my impact on the planet.

I don't usually make New Year's resolutions, but this year my resolutions are to drive less and to make enough extra money to buy a hybrid car. Global change begins with me.

I encourage you to watch "An Inconvenient Truth." It's a beautiful presentation, and makes a compelling argument for change.

Skyscapes

I thought these two skyscapes turned out nice. They're both 22" x 30".

Still Doing Landscapes

These are three more variations on the landscape theme. I was planning to do more on these, but every time I try something, it doesn't look good. I might just leave them as is.

Happy Holidays!

This is one of the funniest things I've seen this season: Elf Yourself, brought to you by Office Max.

Yet More Landscapes

Here are two more landscapes, 28" x 36". I kind of like these two.

More Landscapes

Here are the two 36" x 48" landscapes-in-progress with their bottom parts painted in.

They look a bit garish to me. I haven't yet decided what the next step is with these.

Landscapes

I'm working on some new acrylic pieces that I want to look like landscapes. I masked off the bottom, and painted the top portion of the canvas. Next I'll mask off the top, and paint the bottom. These are both 36" x 48".

It's like two totally separate canvases in one! I think I'll do some overpainting to tie the two halves together.

Meet Alex

I'm back! I took some time off to do marketing, and I'm just now getting back to painting. I thought you might like to meet the newest member of the family. This is Alex, a semi-feral cat who's been coming here for dinner every night for several months, despite the fact that he was terrified of me. Then the weather turned cold, and I put a bed out in the yard for him. He hasn't left the yard since. Now he allows me to pet him a little, but he has approach me. I can't approach him. He growls at the other cats, but so far no fights. I'm hoping I can get him to come into the studio before it starts to rain.
