Cassandra Tondro

I thought I'd take a minute to update you on my own work using natural materials. These are a few of my favorite pieces from my "Decomposition" series. The mediums used are natural dyes, Earth pigments in a soy milk binder, and organic stains (mold) on raw cotton canvas.

Passage, 56" x 42":

Codex, 52" x 38":

Journey, 54" x 40":

Abyss, 54" x 40":

And of course you can see more of my work on my website!

I would love to see these in person. The size - as big as me - would make them feel like a passageway into a new realm. Each has a frame that in large size could read "door". Wonderful textures and subtle swirls. I think Codex and Abyss are my favorites. Opposite colors.

These peices seem to whisper like living things. I agree with Christina. They are like doorways into serenity and wisdom and being enough and timelessness. Id liek to go there!

I love the idea of using the growth of mold to make something beautiful.
