Alternative Audio Guides

Here's a great idea! A group of Marymount Manhattan College students has put together an alternative iPodcast audio guide for the Museum of Modern Art in New York. I wish someone would do this for some of the art museums in Los Angeles. This sounds like great fun!

With one of those mini-MP3 recorders, you could record for hours. So you could easily stroll through the museum, talk into a "thingy" much smaller and lighter than a cell phone, and present it (or edit it) into your unofficial podcast-guided tour. No need to take notes for later.

In version-2, you can add wireless handheld computers with Global Position via Satellite (GPS) Locator technology, so you could make your podcast-tour sensitive to the piece right where the museum patron is standing. This will avoid rushing the museum patron too quickly onto the next piece.

You could even do it for free, just like a REAL LIVE docent does!!
